Enrollment Process

The Enrollment Process usually begins with a tour of Scotty’s. During the tour you can see the center, view the room your child will be placed in, and ask all the questions that come to mind. If you aren’t able to come in for a tour, that’s fine too! We hope the photos and descriptions on the website can give you the feel of a virtual tour.

Once you decide to enroll, we require a deposit of the first week’s tuition and a non-refundable registration fee. The first week’s deposit will be applied to the first week’s attendance. We will then provide you with an enrollment packet that includes an enrollment agreement, program information, child history record, child health record form, permission forms and emergency contact forms. You will also receive a parent handbook and a list of what to bring on your child’s first day. You will fill out these forms and return them on or before your child’s start date. We are available to assist you and answer all questions before, during and after the enrollment process.

A tour can be arranged for any time that fits your schedule during our operating hours of 6:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Some times are better for different ages so that you can see our programs in process. While anytime can be scheduled, we may suggest avoiding the busy A.M. drop off time, nap time and busy P.M. pickup time.

By arranging a time for your tour, you will receive the dedicated attention of our Director, Assistant Director or Head Teacher. You can “drop in” and request an unscheduled tour, but may not be able to get the full experience due to scheduling conflicts.

Holidays & Vacations

Scotty’s is open Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 5:30pm year round except for the following holidays and vacations.

  • New Years Day
  • Good Friday
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving (both Thursday and Friday)
  • Christmas Day

Full tuition is required for the weeks containing these holidays. Our general policy for when a holiday falls on a weekend is:

If the holiday falls on a Saturday, we celebrate it on the previous Friday. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, we celebrate it on the following Monday. The exception is Easter – we celebrate Easter on the previous Friday, which is Good Friday.

Scotty’s will be closed two weeks each year for vacation. No payment is required for the time Scotty’s is closed for vacation shutdown. The first week of vacation shutdown will be the first full week after the week that contains the 4th of July. The exact dates will be announced by the end of April each year. The second week of vacation shutdown will be the week between Christmas and New Year’s. The exact dates will be announced by the end of April each year. Generally we follow the area schools vacation dates for our winter vacation shutdown. If vacation shutdown time should include one of the paid holidays listed, no payment will be required for that holiday.

If you take a vacation at any other time than the two weeks that Scotty’s is closed, payment in full is required.
